Guillermo de la Rosa is an award winning, Venezuelan filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada.
A York University graduate with a BFA in Film Production, his work has gone on to screen in North America, South America and Europe, among them: A Noise That Carries (winner of the “Audience Choice Award” at the Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival, and currently enjoying its national and international festival run), Light for Freedom (Jayu Human Rights Film Festival, Buddhist Film Festival Europe) The Crocodile and The Capybara (with limited distribution by Bell Media, top ten in the 2016 Writers and Filmmakers Competition), Campesino a Campesino (Finalist at Poverty Cure’s film competition), Isabel’s Fever (nominated as best fiction film at York U.’s CineSiege 2014 competition).
Guillermo specializes in finding unique, tastefully odd and memorable concepts that emotionally connects audiences with the true nature of the material at hand, be it a story, a subject, a song or a theme. He strives to make entertainment that captivates and taps into the need to be kind and empathetic with each other.
